I qualified at Edinburgh and returned as intended to be a GP in my home area.  Over the years I have adapted my practice of medicine to be of most service to my patients.  Working in an area of multiple deprivation knowledge and skills of mental health and addiction issues has been paramount.

To this end I was a member of the RCGP Expert Committee when we considered under Claire Gerada’s Chairmanship a programme for GP with Special Interest in Drug Addiction.  Iam Clinical Director for Wellbeing in Mental Health for Heywood Middleton & Rochdale CCG and am an occasional Advisor to the Department of Health.
