Diabetes and endocrine disorders often affect multiple different organ systems and, consequently, diabetologists and endocrinologists enjoy close working relationships with clinicians in many diverse specialties.  This year, in a break with tradition, we thought it would be interesting to base the symposium around these different specialists and so only one of the ten speakers is a consultant in diabetes and endocrinology.  The programme includes informative and entertaining speakers of national and international reputation and should be of interest not only to diabetologists and endocrinologists, but also to other clinicians who require updates on advances in diabetes and endocrinology.  The symposium will also be of relevance to doctors in training, general practitioners and allied health professionals.
